Sailboat Amica
Amica is a center cockpit cutter, designed to ABS standards by Ted Brewer
(Dolphin 50) and built in Canada by Aragosa Yachts:
General

- Genoa and jib are on Profurl furlers.
Interior
- Two cabins, double bunks forward and twin bunk aft. Large head with shower
cabin and a galley in midsection. Salon with navstation under the pilothouse
superstructure with raised floor to provide space for tankage and storage.
Additonal pilot berth in a passage to the aft cabin.
- Engine room under the cockpit, with easy access from both starboard and port
also houses a 2.5kW generator.
- Suspended from cockpit floor is a dual action Whale Gusher bilge pump,
manually operated from helmsman's seat in the cockpit.
- The engine is fed from a 15 l daytank.
- Plenty of storage space includes 20 drawers, 5 cupboards , 13 under bunk
storage compartments and 2 x 250 l compartments under the salon floor.
- 2 in-keel diesel tanks, capacity 200 l each and 2 water tanks,
capacity 250 l each. Holding tank with deck pumpout or electrical
macerator pumpout through a seacock. Additional HDPE 250 l tank under setee,
presently unused.
Electrical and Electronics
- 4 Rolls AGM 4D size 12VDC batteries, each 220 Ah.
- Freedom Marine 50A charger/inverter with remote control panel
- 2.5 kW generator with Kubota Z482-E diesel engine (1500 hrs) and permanent
magnet generator, providing 200A, with remote control panel.
- Two 80 W solar panels with controller on the aft deck.
- Webasto diesel space heater
- Novacool fridge with Danfoss 30 compressor (new)
- PowerSurvivor 80E watermaker (requires new membrane)
- 2 bilge pumps
- Raritan Elegance electrical toilet with macerator pump
- Raymarine ST60 line of instruments including tridata, wind instrument and
- 2 multi display units, autopilot 7000 control head, autopilot with Type
- 1 electrical linear drive as well as a selfstanding GPS unit. Wired
autopilot remote control at navstation.
- TimeZero navigation system running on industrial controls Windows 10 PC (new)
with multiple USB and RS232 inputs, integrating external transmit/ receive
AIS unit, GPS and a 2 kW Nobeltec (Koden) radar(ethernet).
- Navstation also features an Icom M502 VHF with DSC and one button distress
call with GPS position info with remote station in the cockpit, an Icom SSB
M802 with a remote AT40 antenna tuner, also with one button distress call
capability, and a Wema tank level indicator monitoring 5 tanks. There are
2 redundant monitors for the computer and an additional monitor/TV for
entertainment.
- Cabin lights are LED and so are navigation lights, masthead trilight and
deck level running lights.
Galley
Includes Blanco double SS sink, Force 10 gimballed 3 burner propane stove
with oven and a Novakool cooled top entry well insulated fridge with 75 l
freezer section and 150 l fridge section, espresso maker and Foodsaver
vacuum sealer. 2 aluminium propane tanks are located in aft lazaret,
separately vented.
Safety Equipment
Included are two liferafts, mandatory flares, PFDs, two immersion suits,
Katadyn manually operated watermaker.
Iridium 9500 satellite phone.
Anchoring
Lofrans 1700 watt windlass, 33kg ROCNA, 50 kg fisherman and a Fortress Danfort,
two chain lockers one with 50m 3/8 chain and 30m 5/8 rope, other with 10m 3/8
chain and 50m 5/8 rope.
Engine and Drive Gear
Engine is Perkins Prima M80T with 3000 hours. Transmission is ZF 15 MIV,
shaft is 35mm aquamet 22, with PSS thrust bearing and PSS lasdrop type shaft
seal. Propeller is 18 inch, three blade feathering, stainless steel by
Autostream. Propeller allows pitch adjustment. In refitting in 2022 all
shaft bearings as well as rudder bearings were replaced.
Steering
EDSON with quadrant and SS cables, pedestal with 1.2 m wheel and a
Suunto D165 compass.
Spares
Ample spare parts for every system on the boat. Spare 90A alternator (new),
chargers, inverters, Raymarine spare units, PCBs and cables.
SS fasteners, electrical wiring, fuses and breakers, fuel filters.
Amica is equipped for fast and comfortable shorthanded/singlehanded
offshore passages and is ready to take a new owner to any lat/long.
